Europe Trip Part 2: Scotland

We said Au Revoir to France and hello to Edinburgh, Scotland. This leg of the trip was the hardest on all of us. The kids were exhausted and threw a fit at the airport… we were the family with screaming and crying children who everyone looked at and felt sorry for. When we landed in Scotland, the flight attendant actually said “good luck” to us as we deplaned. I gave the guy a side eye and annoyingly walked past him.

We stayed at The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh. It’s a beautiful hotel in the heart of the city and they have THE BEST afternoon tea. If you ever find yourself in Edinburgh, definitely treat yourself to their afternoon tea experience in their Palm Court!

So here’s the thing with Edinburgh… It’s cold and gloomy even in the summer but there’s so much history and beautiful castles that it’s worth the visit! From our hotel, we walked to the Edinburgh Castle and took in the sights.

Here are some photos from the castle!

We also explored the Melrose Abbey. I’m not sure if they do weddings there but O. M. GEEEEE!! If any of you want to get married there, please take me with you! It is beyond beautiful!

Here are some photos from the Abbey.

And let’s not forget Scott’s View!
