Europe Trip Part 3: Lake Como, Italy

Part 1 of the Italy leg of the trip starts in Lake Como and I’ve gotta say… I feel deeply madly in love with it. We flew in to Milan from Edinburgh, Scotland and drove from Milan to Lake Como. It took a few hours to get there and was a bit challenging trying to navigate through the narrow streets of Como in a Range Rover lol. Jake side swiped our rear view mirror on a brick wall at one pointl. But it was either that or get yelled at by a local for taking up too much space on the road lol.

We stayed at The Grand Hotel Tremezzo and that was probably the best decision ever. The hotel is beautiful, the service is top notch (they got us a babysitter for a few hours so Jake and I could have a date night!) and the food… OMG the food! it’s amazing! Our suite came with a private concierge and she was so lovely. When we checked in, she showed us a map of Como and then asked “Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to make your stay special.” To which I replied, “Oh yes! I want a George Clooney moment on a boat!” She looked at me a little funny and then smiled and said “Of course!”

The next day after breakfast, we got on a boat and had one of the best days of my life! I got the girls in matching outfits (of course), Jake in coordinating blue linen shirt, and I bought a white dress just for the occasion. The sun was shining and the wind blew in our hair as our tour guide whisked us away! He even let the girls take over the wheel for a little while! Truly an experience I will never ever forget.

The rest of the days in Como were spent exploring. We took the ferry across the lake and walked around Belagio, ate pizza, ate soooo much gelato, drank all the rose champagne, and sun bathed at the hotel pool. The pool was on another level of badass-ery. it’s actually a floating pool on the lake! So if you ever get the chance to go to Lake Como, you have to check out The Grand Hotel Tremezzo.

Here are some photos of the hotel for you to check out!
