A Romantic Tented Wedding in Malibu

Carly and Ryan tied the knot on Memorial Day weekend in Malibu at Saddlerock Ranch. May in CA is typically hot and sunny, but days before their wedding day, rain was forecasted for the weekend. It’s so rare to have rain in May, but luckily the team pulled the trigger on plan B and boy did plan B blow plan A out of the water!

Carly recalls how they met… We met in Madison, WI at a tavern called 'Vintage.' I had just graduated from college and was visiting my old roommate from TCU (Becca Bearson) for her birthday. Ryan and his best friend from college (Ryan Walker) knew some of the girls who were out and about for Becca's birthday bash and decided to meet us out at the Vintage. Ryan and I talked for most of the night and discussed how we were both moving back to Chicago and how sad we were to leave our college days behind. We said goodnight and goodbye... and as I was walking away, I heard Ryan yell out "Wait... Carly.... Can I get your number and call you when we are both back in Chicago?" The rest is history! That was in 2010 and now Ryan Walker and Becca Bearson are both standing up in our wedding. Ryan is still in my phone as "Ryan Vintage" and we ALWAYS point out the word vintage when we see it.

Ryan proposed at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, CA. Westlake Village has always been a 'happy place' of Carly’s- filled with lots of happy memories. Ryan proposed over her 30th birthday weekend- making it an extremely special birthday celebration! And of course she said YES!

The couple chose neutral colors of super light pink and white, keeping the mood and feel very soft and romantic. Check out the photos below of their romantic tented wedding! I’ve never seen this space done so beautifully.
